Workload Volume

This resource allows you to retrieve, update, lock, and unlock workload volumes and update workload weights.

Volume is a configurable Workload Generator term that represents the number used by the staffing matrix to generate workload. The staffing matrix establishes the numerical relation between volume and workload for each job. Volume can be configured as raw or weighted. In a weighted volume configuration, the volume for specific jobs or locations can be augmented by a weighting calculation. Weight can be configured as per location or per level.

For example, in a health care operation, the volume is the number of patients needing care. A staffing matrix defines the workload for each job for a given volume. Volume in an emergency ward is increased by a weighting factor assigned to reflect the greater care needed.
