Activity Totals

This resource allows you to access activity totals, which are the cumulative value of an employee's time-related activity or accruals, such as hours worked, pay, or earned accrued vacation time.

When information that affects employees' totals is stored in the system, such as new punch data, the employees' totals must be updated within a reasonable period of time. For example, when a manager approves and igns off an employee's hours for the week, the new hours are stored in the system. The hours worked could affect several other time-related values, such as accrued vacation time, accrued sick time, overtime, time spent on a specific task, job, or at a location, and available time for the next schedule. The Background Processor is a service that runs continuously and updates activity totals at specified intervals from the data in the system. To ensure that employees' activity totals are kept up-to-date, the Background Processor constantly reviews the status of employee records. If any totals are out-of-date, the Background Processor re-calculates them.
